There were surprises all round recently when a cat brought into 608 Vets was found to have been missing from his original owners for the past 11 years.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Bandy vanished after being let outside on Bonfire Night in 2013. When Bandy wasn\u2019t found, owner Chloe McCrea assumed the worst.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Little did she know that Bandy had been found a couple of weeks later in a Solihull graveyard, and informally adopted by a new family. Bandy, renamed Tigger, has lived happily with his new family ever since.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tigger’s former life as Bandy was only discovered when the family brought him to 608 to be chipped ahead of new guidance coming into effect on 10<\/span>th<\/span> June. We found details of Tigger’s original owner Chloe on his existing microchip, and she came to our Solihull practice to see him.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“I was in absolute shock, and ecstatic,” she said.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“It was almost as if he was back from the dead, because I had grieved for him, I thought he\u2019d died.”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tigger’s owners were naturally concerned that they were going to lose their beloved pet, but it was decided that, due to the length of time that has passed, he should remain with his “new” family.<\/p>\n

“We knew him for a year, and she\u2019s invested so much in him. We have two children, two dogs, we have his brother and another cat. It probably wouldn\u2019t be fair to bring him back,” said original owner Chloe.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Chloe swapped numbers with the new owner, so they could exchange pictures.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What a happy ending for everyone!<\/p>\n
