608 vet Deborah is entering a well deserved retirement after years of service and dedication at 608 Vets.<\/p>\n

Deborah first came to 608 for work experience back in 1978, before joining us as a vet in 1986.<\/p>\n

A message from Deborah:<\/p>\n

“I graduated from Liverpool University in 1986, going on to work not only at 608 but other\u00a0practices across the country and Malawi. I’ve travelled far and wide; been a working mum, business owner and clinical director.<\/p>\n

But what has made 608 so special?<\/p>\n

The clinical freedom, the caring team and the equipment to carefully\u00a0tailor treatment for your pets\u2019 individual needs. I value the victory laps in theatre when we have\u00a0fought hard and won through, balanced with the team huddle of tears when we have fought hard\u00a0but lost. A tough but fulfilling career.<\/p>\n

So, what\u2019s next as I slip off into retirement?<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve already completed my 2 spring marathons (Paris and Guernsey), so maybe a rest\u2026though not quite yet, as I\u2019m off to Ukraine for some charity vet work shortly. Then, I have my wildlife pond to dig in my garden, and the lawn to mow.<\/p>\n

In July I shall be joining a team called 608 Forget-me-nots to walk 26 miles for the Alzheimer\u2019s\u00a0Society – Trek26 Cotswold24. This disease has and is touching families in 608 and across the\u00a0country. Fundraising is our way of trying to help. So, if you can spare a donation on our\u00a0JustGiving page<\/a> that would be very much appreciated.<\/p>\n

Finally, a massive thank you to all those kind pet owners and their wonderful pets whose lives\u00a0have crossed with mine over the years- for a career of so many amazing memories. So now I can\u00a0leave you confidently in the care of my colleagues at 608.<\/p>\n
